Bluff him out. Pay high bets, smile alot, then he'll think you got something good. If he goes along wiht it, fold, cuz that means hes got something, too. Other than that, you may want to learn when he is bluffing as well, some people will smirk, look down (or up) and other things when they bluff. Be sure to look out for short, unusual actions when he is raising, calling, or betting, as that may mean a bluff. Thats the way i beat lucky players. Just scare him into thinking that hes losing.

The best way is to play tight poker, especially at the beginning. In a game with your buddies, you will want to have action on everything, but you should only play premium hole cards at first (AA, KK, etc). Let your buddies think that you are tight and only play super premium hands. Eventually, you will learn when the right time is to trip them up with a bluff, so they won't even get the chance to get lucky. If they see you calling or betting, they will think you must have something big!
